My friend has a Thiel Officer. What an outstanding knife. It sort of reminds me of a a more refined version of the Strider SNG layout.

I can make two suggestions based on what you want.

I recommend you look at a nice titanium framelock from either Zero Tolerance or Kizer. These can come in under the 200$ mark. Also check out the DPX HEST 2.0 framelock. It is a great knife for under 200$

Or maybe an EDC sized fixed blade would be more up your alley. Check out the very popular Bradford Guardian 3 or my personal favourite, Spyderco Street Beat.

I second the Street Beat , especially the micarta handle version . Highly versatile , from food prep to SD without looking "tactical" . :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

:eek: If you are at all an addictive type personality , might want to think about NOT adding yet another socially unacceptable obsession by obtaining your gateway flipper ! :rolleyes:
 
Buck and an Opinel. I started with more modern styles, however once I started actually using the Buck (and Opinel modded), I started looking at the modern designs differently. Personally, I prefer the 112 for suburban carry, and I usually grab the aluminum 110 over the brass when I want to carry that size of knife.

I would get either the mini or regular sized Steel Will Cutjack in M390 (flipper) depending on the size of knife you favor. I carry the mini and love it. The knife really surprised me how well it's made.

I'd look for another Vic SAK that strikes your fancy and one a bit larger than what you already have.
I would consider a fixed blade knife after you decide if you actually might use it. I love fixed blade knives but seldom have much use for one.
