West Coast Beachcombing!

Jason, once I oiled the joints, which flushed a bit of grunge out, what was reasonable snap became almost like new!
Actually, this is a lucky bunch; everything snaps nicely.
The only real flaw is the cracked Ivory front scale on the J. Beal & Sons. It's been firmly but obviously glued. Otherwise, it's a nice big, at 4 1/8", camper/picnic knife.
All four top blades are stamped, including the button hook.
 
I've been in a lot of antique stores around here and in the Bay Area, but I have never seen a selection like that. Good score.

What a great bunch of seriously dedicated knife collectors!!

i lived in portland 81 to 83 the Sellwood district had 13 blockks of antiques, charlie in 2 yrs. i found many items. looks like you guys did exceptionally well.

Portland is a spirited, booming place Dennis! I wouldn't mind living there; for Powell's Bookstore alone, never mind the rest of it!
