Doc, Have you ever tried it? I usually grab some and hand it to the younger kids (like my 10 yr-old nephew). Tell 'm its sweet and to chew it but don't eat it :D .

The look on their face is priceless.

its called sourgrass but its not that sour and whenever im hiking and see a bit ill take some and chomp away its suposedly not bad to eat and would also help in a stomach ache so im told....

Hey Hollowdellwer, when did you go through the cave. The creek is always up when we try it. Most of the time we spend our time on the property (Up along dry fork road by Yokum, Paris and Harper Knob) or in the wilderness or backcountry areas. Can anyone just walk through now? I was under the impression that it still was private property. (I think it was uncle Bruces at one time, have to ask Patsy next time I see her).

Oh, that medow with the three mi marker up on huckelberry is one of my favs. too. I love the Senca Creek Backcountry.

Yeah, we went all the way thru. Mods feel free to delete this if not kosher but I posted some pics of going all the way thru the cave here:

Don't sit or camp on bare grass because there are a lot of chiggars there and they are hard to get rid of! (they hide under your fingernails and when they get hungry...) Rubbing alcohol gets rid of em and insect spray keeps em away.

My buddy recently had to go to the ER to seek relief after a wicked chigger infestation after blackberry picking.
