Actually, we never were with the confederates. West Virginia seceded from Virginia when Virginia seceded from the Union. WV fought on the North's side during the Civil War.

Why do so many people forget that?

My folks are from WV. I was born in Charleston, but we moved to NC immediately after. So I guess I'm an honorary Mountaineer.

If you click on your "user CP" in the upper left of the menu bar, you will see a list of choices on the left. Find "social groups" and click on it- I think it's the second choice in the second box down. A list of all of the member-created groups will appear, and you should have no trouble spotting ours.
