Does any one have any information on Western and their history? I have looked all over the internet and I can only piece information.

Earlier there was a question about if a Western W-36 has any value, I don't believe a lot. I paid $36 on Ebay for mine including shipping. It is just a nice looking knife.

For the last couple of months I have been buying Western W (wood) series knives on Ebay.

An excellent source for information on Western knives is a book called THE KNIFE MAKERS WHO WENT WEST that includes the history of the company and catalog reprints. This book is out of print but you can still find copies.

They want $80 for that book on Amazon. You would think if there was that much demand for it, they would print up some more copies.
