A whole lot of the eastern portion of the country is bracing for this storm. It started here around midnight and is going strong. Looks to be about 8" and growing. Would sure like to light the forge and hit some hot steel, but way too much wind. Gonna be an inside the shop, work on leather day. First shot is our spring house, creek and road in the background. Second is the two old houses. Stay safe!

Over here in Madison County it hasn't hit us as hard yet...but I am still sitting inside drinking my coffee, so my estimates may be inaccurate.

I sure do miss living in Watauga county. Stay warm, we are suppose to get a few inches here in NY from this storm on Saturday

Fires blazing, coffee is hot, and kids are heading out to play. BUT...the two knives I sharked last Friday are due to arrive today...and I know my mailman won't deliver because he can't get up my road into my hollow! Won't get delivery tomorrow either! Sadness! Oh...the quality of my problems!

We're at a strong 9" now and still snowing heavily. Can't believe it's worse here than Madison Cty. Usually the other way around.

Rick,

It's not even snowing here. Stopped a while ago. And yes...usually so much worse in Madison. My kids are deeply disappointed! Be careful, or I'll head over your way and you can put me to work while my kids play!

It's starting here in Suffolk, VA. We're only supposed to get 2-4 inches and then have to deal with the wind and tidal flooding. Kids wanted Pizza, I'm making Chili and splurged on a sixer of Ballast Point Victory at Sea! You all stay warm!

Good luck to the east coast members. Be safe and keep us posted.

TxSpotsman you have an open invitation to come up to Michigan anytime. If you pick the right time I'll throw in some sub-zero temps as a bonus. :D

yep, snow started here too. We're slated for 22-28", so the beer fridge is stocked (as is the regular fridge ;)) and I'm ready to hunker down for some quality sharking this afternoon! :emot-yarr:

... wish it would snow some where I live.

Easy to say when you don't have to deal with the aftermath..:D..I wouldn't mind a couple of inches so much but the 24 +/- they are calling for doesn't sound the least bit appealing. I would actually prefer a return of the nice warm, relatively speaking, winter we were having up until a week or two ago.

We're getting a dusting here, lamest picture of snow ever, but includes a Fiddleback so.....

So the news finally got something right. Was just chuckling at a report that stated the first thing most stores ran out of today was....BEER! Too funny
