Western W36 date help!!!!!

A western W36 sheath knife was handed down to me when I was 12 from my father, It was my grandfathers. I can not find a date for this knife as the only thing stamped is the finger guard with Western USA W36 nothing is on the blade. I know my dad was young when my grandfather got it for his birthday my dad was born in 1953. so it was somewhere around the early 60s when he got it maybe a little earlier. Any help would be great!
