i dropped my brand new kershaw leek into a bucket of water. i wiped down the outsides and anything i can really see about an hours later, but i need to know if it will rust. i wiped it down really good, but i cant be sure that it will or will not rust. how would i properly clean my leek and make sure it doesnt rust!!!

I won't rust (unless the bucket was filled with salt or acid of sort). If you still worry -> just blast the whole knife with WD40, wipe clean.

It will be fine, my Kershaws are in water often (I live in WA) and in my pocket when I am hiking. Never had an issue with rust. They are made of stainless steel and if its got a dlc blade its has even more protection.

okay sounds good. the water was just plain tap water, but just to be sure i wiped it down extremely well with a paper towel, then blow dried it. i might run up to ace and get some oil to rub on it and lube it a little.

yeah what these guys said, mine has seen a lot worse and never showed any signs of trouble, it's a tougher knife the you'd think,

The torsion bar and the cavity it sits in has grease in there from the factory, so I wouldnt put much oil on it because it might dilute the grease.

I had a marine race car leek. I lost it so I got my jeep leek. a month later I had to move my cargo trqailer and low and behold there was my marine leek. sitting open on the tongue of the trailer and all month long it was raining. I dryed it off. wd-40 it and it work very good. not one spot of rust on it at all. I was very supprised.
