• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Because it usually means that me and Maisy have the beach to ourselves !

There had been others earlier though because there were quite a few tracks both human and canine. I always compare all the dog tracks to Maisy's and try and picture what kind of dog had made them !
Anyway as I was studying the dog tracks I came across what I could only think were Deer tracks, I had never come across Deer tracks on this beach before though !!!

I followed the Deer tracks for a small way and they suddenly disappeared ?
I tried in vain to see where they had gone and then I bacame distracted by the sight of this Heron.....

I watched him for a few minutes and then figured I would walk on a while then come back and try and figure out the Deer track mystery!

A little rain doesn't bother Maisy !

As I started to head back I came across some scat that also puzzled me. It was quite close to the waters edge....not dog, not deer, not bird...it kinda resembled bear scat but on a much smaller scale, I wondered about sea otter but there were no fish scales or bones in it ?

I looked around for any tracks that would reveal the identity but there were none.Just as I was about to give up and ask you guys I spotted this....A perfect Raccoon track !!!

Puzzle solved ! I stared at the other Raccoon tracks and in my mind I could now see the little fella chasing some seagulls away from a dead crab then wandering a little further only to stop and shake some of the rain from his coat !!!
As I was driving back home thinking about the Raccoon I suddenly remembered the Deer track mystery !!!! Damn, I guess ya can't solve em all eh !!!!:D

It sure doesn't look like a miserable day to me! I love beach walks......once on Cape Cod it was very foggy and right on the shore was a baby harbor seal. Just sitting there curious about me.....

I have a theory that Maisie is a reincarnated fish, who is confused about her current status in the tree of life.

Nah, I still think she's part Seal, what do you think ?

See what I mean ? LOL !!!!!:D

Oh, that's a better theory! We'll call it the 'Spooky-Pit theory of the trans-species soul" . Then we'll write a book and make millions.

Looks like you had a very nice hike. I too like slightly rainy days. Keeps the less hardy away so you can enjoy the trail yourself. Wish we had pretty scenery like that around here.
