Got it about a week ago. When I opened the package I was severely disappointed. The axe head had a chip on the lower edge of the blade. The head it self was off center an eight of an inch. To top all of that when I was testing it out for the second time I found that the head was beginning to wobble and break free. This really pissed me off. Hopefully the replacement will be a better product. Wetterling prides itself on their hand made craftsmentship and how it will last for many years. My axe only made it a week.

I posted this in the axe forum also.

Yep, I got a bad one too. I sent it back, and got an excellent replacement. I am very happy with the materials/quality of the one I got. Make sure you tell the seller to send you their best one or you will send it back. They have a problem with not being aligned perfectly (because they're hand made). Wait until you get a good one, you will be very satisfied. If not, go for the Gransfor Burks, you will get a more consistant quality piece, but in my opinion, the Wetterlings are a lot more bang for the buck!

Wow, who did you buy them from? Cause, I sure don't want to do business with anyone that would send me an axe in that condition.

My large Hunters axe is a danged good axe. The only flaw is the user.:D

I found my axe at BladeMatrix.com
They sell them real cheap. Maybe Wetterlings sents them the messed up models. Hopefully I will get a great replacement. This has turned out to be a big hassel.
