Hey guys I'm planing on buying a Wetterlings 26" Forest Axe and was wondering if I should treat the handle with anything before using it.
If I do have to treat it what should I use, and how should I go about this?

Thanks in advance guys.

I have a wetterlings hunter`s axe, and the handle was already coated with something. As it felt like varnish I sanded it off, and used a mix of lineseed oil and turpentine instead (i just hate varnished axe handles and gunstocks).

But I have several axes that have untreated handles and they are just fine. Really no need to treat the axe handles at all.
