Yesterday, I whacked the mess out of a new Rat Daddy.

Today brought a NIB Basic 9 to my door, and I couldn't resist the urge to go out and whack it as well.

I was surprised at the comfort of the B9 handle. I have large hands, and the B9 handle looked small. However, grip while chopping was quite comfortable, and the asymmetrical edge made woodchips out of some fairly dense wood with relative ease.

The B9 may be the gateway drug I needed to go out and whack the SHBM...

Gentlemen, the values of your mint Rat Daddies and mint Basic 9's just went up. Email me and I'll provide an address where you can forward donations. :D

Awesome!

Give some comparisons between the RD and B9... Which would you reach for if you only could take one???

I dunno if I could whack a SHBM. Unless I found it slightly used at a gun show for $200 or something.

Guyon is on a friggin' roll!!!!

This thread has motivated me to take my Basic 9 down to the beach for some impromptu whackin' action... :D

Thanks, Guyon!!

I have beaten both to death the basic 9 is much more comfy than the SHSH IMO. can't wait for the dog father.

I've almost convinced myself that, after the first whack, you don't feel pain anymore. I'm trying to confirm with Cobalt, but he just laughs at me.

Do not try to resist urges concerning Busse bladeware.... you can get a hernia doing that. When the urge comes, welcome it... it is your friend, your door to a new reality, your cheap excuse for hours of whacking fun... let it encompass you... let it suffuse you with its energy... become one with the urge. You are the urge you surrender to.

Another one bites the dust!! ;) :D :D

More drink is obviously in order, your eyes are still functional.

IME the edge on the Basics seems thinner than most other Busses. This allows them easier, more efficient penetration while whacking with them and the full-flat primary bevels clear chips nicely.

I'm going to start chanting this as my mantra.

Agreed.

RokJok knows of what he speaks. The man is a veritable black hole for INFI when it comes to the Basic line.
