I have 2 wharncliffe style blades, and I find it to be a very easy blade-style to sharpen since there is little or no curvature to the edge. I have a recurve-style blade and I have only sharpened it once, but it seems that the edge is not consistent. I also find it easy to reprofile this style of blade. I recently reprofiled my "Fang", an E.V. Chavar custom neck knife with a wharncliffe blade, and sharpened it down to 1200 grit, stropped it, and it is VERY sharp.
I used a DMT aligner, similar in use to a lansky guide. No tricks, select your angle, sharpen away.
