Okay Gentlemen,

I'm looking from w wharncliffe-bladed knife. I have a Centofante/Onion in wharncliffe and a Spyderco Centofante III. I'm a fan of the blade shape and would like some recommendations for others.
Between 2.5" and 3.5" preferably.
No price range.

CASE Seahorse comes to mind for a slip joint knife. Very nice! I have a CRKT Needs Work AO with a modified Wharncliffe blade.

Spyderco has a few. The yojimbo ,spin, and kiwi. If you dont mind a fixed blade, the swick and ronin.

You could try slipjoints. Lots of slipjoints have wharncliffes for main blades or as a smaller second blade.

edit: just remembered, the BRKT tusk

A lot of choices out there. I really like the Case Wharncliff Copperlock. That's one of my favorite blade styles too. I routinely go on ebay and search under wharncliff.

Not a big slippie fan. I looked at the Kershaw Needs Work, nice but the handle is a little too much.
What about William Henry?

Benchmade Opportunist and Benchmade Gravitator are nice wharncliffes.

I have a custom one on its way to me by Hiroaki Ohta - 3" popcorn stag single blade wharncliffe slipjoint. I purchased it thru customknifegallery.com. A photo is on the web site.

I've always liked the Benchmade Opportunist but the blade isn't really a Wharncliffe. It appears to curve upward slightly.

mmmmm.........Wharnies :D

The two in the middle are up for trade....(looking for CRK folders only )

So-Lo,
What is the one second from the top? It's beautiful. I can't make out the sig on the blade but it looks almost like some of Bob Terzuola's work (with the CF bolster). I'm looking for something just like that. Does William Henry offer anything similar? All the wharnies of theirs I've seen have been very small.

That's a Kirby Lambert Whar, and if I had a CRK handy, I would be asking So-Lo to do a trade. I've always loved that Lambert!!!!

Cheers,
jon:D

Kirby's Whar was my original choice for my first custom but instead I went for the Inferno. Have been saving and there is a chance a Whar may be one of my next knives to consider as I quite like the Whar as well.

In a slightly modified form, there's the BM Opportunist, Switchback and you should also check out the AG Russell Featherlite.

I hate to say the obvious but Spyderco Centofante 4 is the next logical choice.... :)
If you can find a Yojimbo, it's highly recommended as well..

You have excellent taste in blade patterns. ;-)

However, you have at least one Spyderco, you like wharncliffes, and you don't have a Centofante 4? Sad, so sad. I love this knife. Well made, and the wharncliffe blade is shaped about as perfectly as youcan get.

Alternately, if you want a lower priced beater, the Spyderco Byrd Pelican is quite nice. Stainless handles, so it's solid and a touch heavier. You can find them for less than $25, which is an excellent value.
