The Wharncliffe style blade was never my choice for a knife until Greebe's custom build. Something clicked and I rethought what little I know about knives. I found a Wharncliffe thread on BF and read more of what the professional knife makers had to say about blade size and fabrication and in particular this style blade. This time has been well spent customizing my BK11,14 and two 16s. I am happily surprised that this knife is comfortable in my hand. After the first few passes in the 2x42, I knew I had a winner, at least for me. The blade length is only 3.375" not big , but it should be ok for some food prep and certainly boxes and such. I have eight Spydercos, other folders and of course Beckers and Esee knives. I EDC my Spyderco Cat almost all the time and use it quite often. I could certainly see myself EDCing the Wharncliffe in leather.
