Hey there!

I'm looking for a sturdy folding knife with a Wharncliffe blade, but have not found many options by searching. Can anyone help? I cannot go over 100 USD and would like to keep it as low as possible.

Thanks!

The Kiwi 4 is a tad over $100 unless I paid too much. It's really a great little knife and will do most of what you want a little knife for. It also fits the hand real well. The Cold Steel Tuff Lite is certainly within budget. I like the knife, but it is certainly not as refined as the Spydie. All you have to do is open and close it a couple times to see the difference.

It's been awhile since I've seen them, but the Blackjack Be Wharned was a decent knife. Also, Spyderco Yojimbos hit the Exchange around the $100 mark fairly regularly.

Kershaw Needs Work. Not a pretty knife (at least the FRN handled ones), but surprisingly comfortable in hand. And with full liners and decently thick blade stock, it's pretty sturdy. Well under $100.

+1 on watching for a yojimbo! Great knives and very study and well made.

Yojimbo2 is definitely very nice. Mine cost me $104 brand new about 2 years ago so it's in the ballpark. Definitely worth it!

+1 on the Needs Work.

And Forrest, I think Blackhawk makes the Be Wharned ;)

Went and looked it up, you're right....jerk! LOL

You'd think I'd have been sure of the proper name, since I had one and sold it on the Exchange. Pretty durable knife, although the point seemed pretty delicate!

Haha fight me already!

Hope all is well in gatorville, brother!

LOL "COME AT ME BRUH!!"

Let me tell ya, the gators are probably the only ones enjoying all this rain we've been getting!

Also, to keep my reply on topic: I would agree with Flarp, I also had a Needs Work and while the handle felt a tad cheap, the assist open was great, and the blade shape was really stout. I enjoyed that knife quite a bit before giving it away. I had a backup that I sold on the Exchange, that I miss sometimes. It was actually a pretty decent whittling knife.

Here are pictures of Yojimbo2, Kiwi4, Leek and Tuff-Lite.

Leek has the largest variety of models by far (picture below is the composite blade blackwashed version).

Tuff-Lite can be had regular with a 2.5" blade or Mini with a 2" blade. Either can be had with plain edge or full serrations. Value priced.

fred perrin has a cool warncliffe friction folder called the shark that is well under $100, it comes with a small sheath so you carry it in your pocket or however you want. i havent handled one, but i want to buy one soon.

I noticed the Blackhawk Be Wharned, but I wasn't sure of the durability. I really like 5.11 knives, so I figured since Blackhawk is a similar company, it can't be too bad, eh?

Another vote for needs work. I have been looking for the g10 version for a year i like it so much. Haven't broke my tip yet. Two years of use.

The Spyderco Centofante 4 would have been perfect for you. Would love to see them do another run

Fox Knives USA has a Wharncliffe folder called the Drago. It has an FRN handle without liners. It is a very ergonomic handle.

Available in four color choices: black, dark green, light blue and orange.

I picked up one of the light blue versions a while ago and it has become my "go to" knife for using at home.

Here is a link to a BFC-authorized dealer that has them:
