Wharncliffe Izula anyone???

i would be interested, maybe if the entire design was just a bit larger too so i could fit my big hands on it. I am happy with the izula i have for now, i really need to get my RAT CUTLERY 5 soon though.

Awesome photchop, thanks, that looks even better than I imagined, almost like it was meant to be a wharnie blade

I'd think the handle should be at another angle. Imagine preparing food with that ... and slicing something on a board or something ...
with the shown angle, you will tend to use the tip of the blade only ...

Eh, I think I'd have to pass on it. luckykitty does bring up a good point, the way the Izula's handle is shaped makes the blade angle forward which doesn't go so well with the wharncliffe style blade.

I made one a while ago kind of like that, but it had handle scales.

I think the Izula could be a little better because it would pack flatter, which was my biggest problem with the one I did. It was great on a desk, but too chunky for easy carry.

Again in the design a Rat thread, I posted:

The handle angle depends on your intended use. I have other knives for food preparation, but this would suit me nicely for whittling :)

I like it enuff to buy at least one, however I agree that a RC-3 with a Wharncliffe blade would be the hindquarters of the feline...;)

The Bark River TUSK that I have is similarly angled and I like it a lot. It kind of pulls the material being cut into the blade. While not ideal for food prep it seems to be a plus for most other types of tasks.

Mmmm, a wharnie RC3 would be sweet too :D
