Wharnie in Walnut. Hand made from 1/8" 1095, edge quenched and triple tempered. Full tang and full flat ground. The cutting edge is 3 3/4" and overall it is 7 5/8". The Walnut handles are hand sanded to 400 grit, and soaked in Linseed oil. They are complimented with two 1/4" brass pins and a 1/4" brass lanyard tube. Looks good!

Are you using pure linseed oil or BLO, and how long does it take to dry for you? I find BLO can take a while so I'd bet pure linseed oil might need some serious set-up time.

t is BLO. I soak it for a while pull it out let it drip off then wipe it down let it sit. not sure on how long it takes to dry, but it does not seem too long. Doug
 
Got it. I really like BLO. It's taken longer to set up when I've used it on oilier woods like Bolivian Rosewood and Bocote, and I've sometimes had to perch a knife in front of a register grate to help it along.

The finish on that walnut looks awesome! It's got a great natural look to it.
