What’s the best way to break in a stiff knife?

All these oil recommendations and here I am about to tell you the opposite. In my experience you wants the parts to wear in to each other. Oil slows this process. It's the reason we use it. So what I do is scrub a knife with hot water and dish soap to try to remove all oil residue. Play with the knife like that for a few days, then add your oil.
 
For backlocks, open the knife to the point it raises the back to its highest point and leave it sitting there, half open, over night (or longer). This helped my Endura tremendously.
