What’s the first knife you bought in 2018, and when did you hit “confirm?”

I’ll start:

Adding to my collection of cheap, tough little fixed blades with large handles - Schrade 56m

January 1 @ 1940hrs EST
 
Spyderco Plain Edge M390 Blue G-10 Para 3. Purchased last night early evening. Bought using PayPal and they only date the transaction not the time.
 
I made it about 22 hours into the New Year before giving in to the Bento Box Para 3 preorder.
 
Koenig Arius. I had a prepaid Visa gift card and Blade HQ accepts split payments over the phone.
 
Jan 1: SKblades Li Jack, CPM154 110, and S35vn Spitfire... probably going to order a G10 Marksman, too, lol.
 
I just used a gift card to buy a Ka-Bar 1271 "Fighter" that had been on my wish list for a few months. Well, technically I ORDERED it on the 27th in the afternoon, but due to a UPS mix up I didn't pick it up from will call until today. Well worth the wait. It's a wicked beast.

I used another gift card on January 1st to try out a new SOG multi-tool, a Poweraccess. Nice little EDC tool selection slightly smaller than my Rebar.
 
I didn't wait until 1/1/18
I ordered the day before. lol

Arno Bernard Marabou with Kudu bone scales.
Will see if that arrives before an earlier order of a Buck 110 that got back-ordered.
Currently have 4 different knives in transit with a 5th custom waiting completion and shipment.

2017 may have sucked but 2018 is at least starting out sharper! :cool:

Update:
Popped my Benchmade cherry.
Just pulled the trigger tonight on a Benchmade Saddle Mountain Hunting knife since they are being discontinued and out of stock most places already.
Now I wait to see which of my little pretties is going to appear first in 2018 :D

Nothing yet. My knife collection has been reduced to about 6 knives now and will probably only be buying what I consider super special higher end (for me) stuff. I am never letting my collection get over 10 Knives ever again. A knife has to be something special or I will go whole year buying nothing.
 
Let’s see I made it to Jan 2nd 2018 at 12:46 before I bought a Fallkniven HK9 that I found at a wicked awesome price. Should be here Friday.

NY resolution...no more knives till I get below 10 again.
And I've got like 50 so keep your eyes peeled for some deals on the exchange folks.

I’m actually in that same boat too. I bought that knife but sold 4 between yesterday and today so I’m down to 6 including the HK9 when it comes Friday. Decided I like high quality and using my knives over letting ones sit in the drawer. I’ve been on a using quest in 2017 and I plan on continuing it.

I need to do the same at least in terms of folders.... it will take some will power to sell something for the first time.

Santa brought me a green/yellow Zome with the s30v, which reminded me that I love the Delica.

I should be making a pilgrimage to Golden soon, and plan to perhaps have the black clips on the colored Delicas replaced with silver. Or maybe the Tasman salt?? I have had them switch the black clips for silver on the brown Delica and Endura and it looks very nice!

Yeah, I think I want to pick up one of the S30 ones as well, just for the variety. How do you like the coloration on the Zome green/yellow?
 
I really like it, and I wasn't sure that I would. Mine has a lot of green over yellow, and ended up speaking to my inner hillbilly. I'll post a pic when I get that figured out...

The silver clip is a touch I like as well. I've been carrying it frequently since Christmas, but my buddy (who has a nice Mini Grip I gifted him) wasn't too impressed, haha.

ETA: And how bout that wharncliffe Sprint run? Hubba hubba, I need some extra cash! Plus the OTHER sprint run Delica!! Sheesh!
 
I am in the same process as some others ... in that I have been sorting out duplicates or knives that just never ended up getting used and a sharpmaker and a few odds and ends and going to starting listing some this year ...

but ummm ... I'm definately not going to be able to join the "no more then 10 knives" into my plan ... but I am cutting down some ...

now I may have ordered a couple just before the New Year ... those don't count right? ... and so far I only have 4 knives on my radar for 2018 ... but they can't count either since I'll be selling off several.
