Exactly. Submariners are for timing pointless things like how much oxygen you have. Speedmasters are for timing the important stuff like steaks

It is obvious that some of the gentlemen here are REALLY into watches. I am a simple sort of guy so a simple watch with an uncluttered dial face works best for me. It is pretty much the same when it comes to knives and even sharpening systems. I like the simplicity of a frame lock and my preferred sharpening system is either benchstones or a Sharpmaker. Simple and uncomplicated to understand or use.
