Blasphemy, I know. They’re so cheap, you might as well grab ‘em all for the price of one Sebenza. But what would you say is the one and done Morakniv? What’s the most bang for the buck Mora?

For me, it’s a toss up between the Kansbol and the Bushcraft Black. I like the interesting grind of the Kansbol, but the Black is probably my pick for most comfy knife handle of all time.

I have a few Mora wood carvers and spoon knives, but my only general use Mora is the Bushcraft Triflex. Differentially heat treated 1075. My first outdoors/bushcraft knife, and the first I bought thanks to YT reviews. :-)

The Kansbol is my go to outdoor fixed blade, it’s excellent by nearly all my metrics.
I also have a soft spot for the original moras, I think they are No.1 and No. 2 patterns, but just going off a foggy memory. They have a charm all their own.

The companion is also a great choice, but I prefer the Kansbol in every way.

The 511 is pretty hard to beat imho. I don’t mind the guard personally.
I haven't cut the guard on the one I have currently, but then again I haven't really used it either. I didn't trim the first one all the way off, just shortened it a bit. They're a darned fine knife.

Broke my first one, but that was with a 3 pound cross pein doing something I knew I shouldn't have been doing in the first place (and yes there was a good deal of alcohol involved in the decision).

I wish they could also make a FFG companion, even at a slightly higher price. I do think there’s a market for it.
That's why I like the Kansbol a little more than the Companion. Obviously it's not a full flat grind, but it slices very well and still has some thicker grinds near the handle to power through woodstuffs. If they could make a Companion blade with the grind/geometry of a Kansbol I'd be hooked (ie, a Kansbol that is slightly pointy-er).

The Kansbol is as close to I can get to a one and done Morakniv, which I obviously did not do. A long time ago, the Morakniv Bushcraft was for a while my one and done lightweight pack knife for hiking. Then there was the Heavy Duty Companion, which is probably more knife than most people will ever use or need in the great outdoors. The Morakniv Craftline Carpentry Chisel is in my vehicle trunk tools, because it is both handy and light. I have Moraknivs stashed in sheds and work stations around the property, so there will always be a knife handy, and I kind of like their wood carving tools too.

Beautiful collection, thanks for sharing. What do you think of the Pathfinder? I thought it was just the Bushcraft Black but with excess, unneeded steel. Still the same level of Morakniv quality though.
