Neither do the C27 Jess Horn or the Ramco Laguiole, both of which many Spyderco collectors consider to be "grail" knives.

Why would the Caly 3 be discontinued? I can't imagine it is a poor seller. Is that--poor sales--the reason for discontinuing a model, anyway?

No one really knows, although we can guess.

Maybe a new Caly 3 (Different scales) or a new model designed to fill the void (Caly 4 etc.).

Wait till late December for the new catalog! :D

I don't know why... I had the same question when the original full-flat-grind Manix and Mini-Manix were discontinued too. But At least, the Carbon Fiber/ZDP-189 Caly3 still in regular production.

Barong, Captain and Superhawk in that order.

The Barong sold out VERY fast when it went on clearance.

Like the Barong, the Captain will remain a very unique and very useful design.

If the Superhawk chassis becomes a hit in the leaf blade version, the Superhawk could appreciate very rapidly. Otherwise I would guess it will have a long-term slowly rising value.
