What 8" blade do you prefer?

I have the DSF, TGLB and NMSFNO. To choose only one from the three the NMSFNO wins hands down (to me, as we know this is very subjective). This would be followed closly by the TGLB and then the DSF. Now, just because in this exercise the DSF is No3 of 3 don't for a moment think I don't like it, that is not the case, it just happens I like the other two a little more.

I quite like the SAR8 for a full spine 8 incher ... also the NMSFNO ... I kept those two and moved on my FSH's ... too heavy ... but my favourite Busse of all is the Basic 9 ... which OAL wise is the same as the SAR8 and NMSFNO ... the Asymetric edge is a great bit of thinking which needs bringing back as an option ... and the power to weight ratio of the Basic 9 is brilliant ( and why I like it so much ). At 14 oz's it can chop well enough to build a camp ... but you can put it in a Mountain Marathon pack and run without feeling daft for carrying a big knife ... and can set up a great fire and Barbie at close of play ...

If I can say this after a lot of knives and owning a LOT of Busse's ... my Basic 9 and my Spydie Para II are now what I seem to carry all the time and they are lightweight and work just as good as heavier options ... which is why I like them.

I think handle shape and balance--"feel"--may be the real difference you're sorting out. If the NMSFNO, FSH, E-handle or Euro Mojo/Mofo's don't pan out, I find the SARGE comfortable in a very different configuration--also the SAR8 may do it for you.

Of course, to me nothing competes with Resiprene, but you knew that. :)

What Will said;)

Get all three..but if I had to choose one...the NMSFNO would be my choice....

A nice addition to the DSSF, NMSFNO, and TGLB is the Sarge 7.

Like the TGLB it's light and has remarkable balance, and the full flat grind makes it a good slicer.

When it came time to thin the herd I kept my SARGE 7 and sold the TGLB, NMSFNO, SARsquatch, SH-E and HHFSH.
The SARGE 7 is just a better fit for me. I like the lighter weight and blade geometry. The thinner edge bites as deep as some of the heavier models with obtuse edges.
At times I wish I held onto the SARsquatch, I'm keeping my eyes open for the right one to pop up.

Boy, if only I could just go back in time to 2008 and buy all three of these. Should cover my 8" knife bases……..

Competition Grade Hell Razor. . . . $287.00

Some of you boys are making me REALLY want a SAR/Sarge. I dismissed them a long time ago because I hear people complaining about the handle ergos. Maybe they are better than some people were saying. I think I'd prefer the SAR8 over the NMSFNO.

My Custom Shop Sarge-7 I got at Blade a few years ago has a 7 3/4" blade and is pretty darned sweet! That said, I will still get a B-8 whenever Jerry releases them.;):thumbup:

I really miss my HOGFSH. I sold it in a moment of weakness needing some cash. horrible decision. However I have a hell razor, axe hammer, SARsquatch and many others so I feel like I'm covered lol.
