Today was just spectacular. Low 60's and sunny. The foliage was gorgeous, not peak, but almost better and more interesting. Did about 12 miles going up and down several of the small mountains in Harriman State park.

Some dogs having a great day

I'm pretty beat, and the dogs are sleeping soundly :D

looks like a nice day...i'm kinda mad i mostly wasted mine...

you didn't get another dog did you??

You and me too, siguy. Slept in until noon :O Fished for about an hour this afternoon, but once again nothing was biting. Have spent the rest of the day on the intarweb and fondling knives.

Did get out for a short hike yesterday, though. Nowhere near as cool as this one, but it was nice anyway. Great pics!

those two are cute together.

rocketbomb, i spent the entire day at a race sitting around doing nothing (didn't even have my juggling balls to practice a new trick i wanted to try). apart from the 26 minutes i was running for i spent 8 hours with nothing to do...

i'll try to make up for it tomorrow...

Awesome shots. You're right - the mixture of green and fall colours provides really nice contrasts. Thanks for posting them.

Awsome pics. Looks like you had a better day than I did. I got to install new railings on the front porch, repair a section of the concrete driveway and paint my sons room. :p Yep, I jealous too.

Thanks for the replies but now I'm starting to feel guilty about having had too much fun. Honestly I would have probably slept late and squandered the day had I not been coerced into driving my wife to a job at 7 AM.

Great pics and beautiful dogs. I have every intention of getting out and about on Monday morning if not tomorrrow early afternoon. If I go through this entire long weekend without hitting a trail I'll feel horrible.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

I hate you. ;)

The next hike you take I will make sure I'm there.

looks like an awsome day! sounds very enjoyable.

like siguy, i didnt get to do mush oudoor stuff today either, i got up at 7, worked on building a house till 12, did yardwork at my house till 2, worked at my job till 7, and did homework until about 20 minutes ago( thats what i get for taking 4 college classes in 11th grade i guess). tomorrow i might be able to get out for a couple hours.

Autumn is my favorite time of year, and your pics remind me why.

Thanks for sharing!

Theo, that second pic is one that looks familiar. I stood in basically the same spot about a year ago and also took a similiar pic! Took a loop around on the trail that went passed a really large piece of steeply slanted rock that went off into space. Did you hike around past that area?

Really nice, I especially like the first picture. I grew up in upstate NY, and fall is the time I miss it.

I'm with Tony on this one. Autumn/fall is my favourite time of year and your pictures, in part, show why. Other reasons are: after the first frost, goodbye bugs; prime time for collecting natural cordage material; salmon run; temperatures are more humane; in fact I'm at the point now, I hardly spend any time in the bush in the summer. Fall, Winter and Spring is where it's at.

Theo, thanks for sharing those pictures. I, on the other hand, spent the afternoon at a craft show. I could post pictures but.................... :(

Doc

It looks like you had a great hike! Beautiful surroundings, thanks for sharing!

It was beautiful like that all across the North East! It's good to see you got out to enjoy it with your best friends.:)
