I would agree. It’s easier for me to use itThis is another reason why I've come to prefer a rough stone wash.
Interestingly, I just took out a Spyderco Para 3 that was bought brand new from the stock of the local dealer some time ago, to use. When I first got it, I checked it over & was quite sure the blade was perfectly scratchless before putting it back into the box for storage. Now, looking at it closely again, I can see some very fine hairline scratches on the blade surface. It’s very likely these were already there from the production grinding/sharpening process but unnoticed previously. Could be the same case with yours.Hello everyone, I have a very confused question. When I wipe my collection of knives with a cloth, I occasionally find new scratches on the blade. I'm surprised that I don't use them. I also try to rub the blade with something such as plastic and aluminum, but it won't cause scratches. I wonder if it's the dust in the air? Is anyone in the same situation as me?
Yes, sir, what you said is the same as what I encountered.Interestingly, I just took out a Spyderco Para 3 that was bought brand new from the stock of the local dealer some time ago, to use. A tiny grain of sand will scratch any steel. This seems more prevalent in plastic/kydex/concealex sheaths than leather, FWIW.
No the cloth is not clean , if it is clean you would not have scratches . Change cloth and you will have no more scratches . Last thing that knife makers do on knife when they finish knife is sharpening . Most likely, dust from sharpening remained on one or more of your knives and during cleaning you transferred it to the cloth . No mystery, goblins don't scratch your blades for sureHello, sir, I haven't sharp the blade, and the cloth is clean. I pay great attention to this aspect, so I have a special cloth to clean the oil on the blade and the black oil stains in places such as washer or bearings. These are different from the cloth wiped daily. Because the knives are in my personal collection and will not be used by others. I feel very strange,This kind of thing has happened to me several times. I asked my friends, They said it might be the dust in the air, so I think it's strange. Is it really possible that the dust can cause scratches on the blade?
I have cats. I get scratches ON my wrinkles.I'm getting wrinkles......
My knives are getting scratches.....
That's life.

Look this picture , it is knife I was working on not so long ago .I clean all that hard epoxy from blade with other knife , 60 Rockwell blade would not scratch 65 Rockwell blade . But any kind of grit like AO , Sic would scratch any blade ...............And loose diamond is champion in that !! I learn that in hard way !
