he crazy thing is that I was in Ireland a few months back.

Allot of folks have weapons that they will not even speak in public about.

That is so sad.

The good parts is that they have the weapons and just keep them under wraps.

This presents a personal dilemma. I'm not sure if given a choice, would I rather have my skull bashed-in with a cricket bat, or stabbed! :eek:

I think I'd rather be stabbed. A bat wielding assailant would be prone to aim for the head, where as stabs might as well be aimed at the torso. I've been beaten pretty badly to the head with a wooden baton, and don't want to imagine what a cricket bat would do. With some luck, a stab to the torso could miss vital organs, or at least leave some time and possibilty to fix the damage. Head injuries are pretty hard to care of, and the brain is the last part of my body I want to leave impaired.

This just in...The Hillingdon council has started the "Pitch-the-forks" program. Collection bins will be conveniently located for local farmers. Says one Hillingdon council member who declined to be identified: "We don't want anyone getting forked now do we?" :D
 
Ignorance and paranoia cause these types of scenerios. Knives fall into the same catagory as guns in the minds of morons. :rolleyes:

Every cloud has a silver linning. I will sell them the next knife when they want to cook dinner and need a meat cleaver an large kitchen knife.
 
could someone explain to me how this would help anything? couldnt the criminals just buy more, or better yet make one? they complain that knife related crime has risen, well thats because they are easier to get than guns over there.
there are plenty of good criminal devices that would work just as good or better than a knife. for instance
1. chains
2. bats
3. brass knuckles
4. any heavy stong object
i think this was just something to make the brits feel like there stopping crime. :D
 
What they fail to realize is "intent" ANYONE intent on killing, robbing, raping someone else WILL do it regardless of their weapon of choice. You can kill someone with a pencil if you like. It will make it easier than with your bare hands but if the outlaw pencils, a killer WILL use his or her bare hands to kill someone. Will they out law bottles? bricks? garbage can lids? All it takes is the will to kill. Sure a weapon makes it easier but if your are "intent" on murder or robbery, etc, then you will do it PERIOD. How about some more job programs and better education so that less people feel the need to get ahead by hurting others! Stop limiting my God given right to defend myself and my family or to simply use a tool like a knife to open my packages or cut my line. What a bunch of crap!


The sad part is that mentality is already here! In NYC we've had "raids" on legitimate knife dealers for selling knives that they are now calling "illegal" that prior to 9/11 were perfectly legal or at least in a grey area. So retailers have lost money from these raids and it makes us look bad because on teh news all they say is "Illegal Knives" "confiscation" and people believe that if you carry a knife here it's illegal now. It's all programming for the coming changes in the law and in thought. Over there they will be banning Baseball for use of bats and soccer because hooligans will beat each other with sharp cleats! You won't be able to shave with a straight razor. Sheesh! :mad:
 
I wonder if they'll have knives to cut their food with or just pick it up and bite chunks out of it. What a crock of crap. If they ban table knives they'll probably do away with forks soon. Do they think the bad guys are turning their knives in too?
 
better ban SOCKS and PEBBLES too.....i might fill my sock with a few pebbles and let me tell you , that hurts a hell of a lot more bounced off the back of the head than a knife..... :mad: hey lets ban ice too...cuz we all know that an icicle is the perfect weapon...untracable....... :mad: whoops, lets ban big fishhooks too

If I remember my history correctly didn't we airdrop loads of firearms for them during WWII? Hope we don't have to do the same with knives!!!!! :p

typical of the political mastermindery of british law they put in place ways to dispose of illegal weapons only to find a pile of legal ones handed in by honest people. Do they really think crims are gonna hand in the things that make them what they are? WAKE UP u jackass's is all i wanna say to them. its like putting a lock on the door of your house it only stops the honest people walking thru your door the crim wouldnt even bother hed just smash a window or go thru the roof. i just cannot believe how goddamn stupid some people are.
 
I was talking to Anne Reeve a while back, we got on to the UK as I am from there and the ludicrous laws they have or are trying to implement. She said the weapon of choice in S Africa is a bicycle spoke.

hammers, 2x4's, and tire irons must rank right up there don't they for weapons used in crime?

surgeons are going to have to have a weapons permit to perform surgery
