What a nasty day !!!

Pit - you ever tried GoreTex in that weather? Or stick with rubber rain gear?

Hey Bruce, you know the weather here is very similar to when I was back in England and Goretex sucks, IMO ! You get more wet from condensation build up than from the rain itself, rubber is even worse. With Windproof/Showerproof gear such as Buffalo's Pertex and Paramo's clothing you stay far more dry and comfortable during high activity such as hiking.
I'm even more comfortable in tightly woven wool than Goretex.

I spent a summer on the coast living at Port Hardy working in Kingcome Inlet. I think it rained every day except 3. I definatley know what it is like to get soaked from the inside out!

Exactly ! I'd rather sacrifice a little so called Waterproof Bruce for Water resistance and not have the humidity build up within the garment. Till I tried Buffalo clothing and Paramo I never realised how much the comfort level could be improved !

Bummer! We've been having a real sunny spell of late.

My Buffalo special 6 shirt....awesome bit of kit but I'm afraid they are an English company so it makes it tough getting them in Canada or the US !

I've not really come across anything similar over here. In England two companies, RAB and Montane also make similar garments.

We know a thing or two about rain

You guys ever tried Ventile or Gabardine?? I was lucky enough to win a Ventile jacket and scored a real good deal on another. They work a treat for me as I tend to run a bit warm and anything else leaves me with a right dab on underneath.

I've always fancied getting a Ventile smock but the darn things are so expensive !

I'm guessing he's either a

2. Trust fund baby and he actually bought the island
3. Laughing his @ss off at my bad guesses. ;)

Probably door number 3, but it's always fun to guess! :D In any event, don't tell us! It's more fun to spread rumors!

I'd have to say #3.

Pit strikes me as a regular guy.

Well. Whatever that means!

No trust fund unfortunately, LOL !:(

If I have a secret it's that I work 12 hr shifts, 4 on then 4 off....the good thing about this is that if I book 4 days off it gives me a 12 day block..........no longer a secret eh !!!:D

You shouldn't have told us!!! Since you nixed the trust fund, I was going to spread the dot com rumor! :D Oh well, I don't have a trust fund either. Or a dot com windfall... But I have a job, so I'm not complaining. :thumbsup!:

Argh - how do you get that thumbs up thingy???

At least you are getting out a TON, and that's great, everyone enjoys your pictures and stories, thanks for taking the time to do it all!
