I am trying to teach my 2 1/2 year old how to treat a sharp knife. I have some in the works that are not sharpened at all yet. He will hold them, and rub the spine and side with a rag (because he sees me polishing my knives when I get ready to put them away). So he point out to my wife that you can rub on the side, and the spine, but not to touch the edge, because it is sharp, and it will cut you. Maybe he will be ready to cut his cake at his 3 year birthday with my FBMLE
