Hi all ..... If your looking for Humour, i would skip this post

So they say bad things happen in 3s ! Well up until this weekend i always thought that was an old wifes tale, but i was sadly very mistaken. Sunday night i had to make an emergency visit to the vets, my 9 year old collie dog Penny had collapsed in the garden and was fitting ,she had visited the vets the week before for a couple of tests but when i got to the surgery they informed me they had sent out a letter with some test results confirming she had cancer which had probably spread and after tonight's episode the kindest thing to do was to let her go to sleep . Woww , i never saw that coming ,i new penny was ill but if i'm honest it was a treatable illnesses maybe a few tablets but not cancer and butting her to sleep was unthinkable.

The veterinary nurse was so kind and considerate ,she left me alone in the surgery to say my goodbyes then as i walked out very blurry eyed she went in ,moments later it was all over, i asked if i could take her home and after wrapping her in her favourite blanket, i left for the short drive home, only to find my car had vanished ! my old crappy blue volvo had been stolen, i didnt know whether to laugh or cry at this point, but after a phone call to my wife and the police ,Penny and i was driven home to the children ,why anyone would choose to steel a car which had the value of a bag of peanuts beggars belief.

It was moments later a feeling of dread overwhelmed me , NO ! I stood there dumbfounded F*CK FUC* F**K my little orange Hinderer which i had purchased last summer from Rick, was in the glove box, i had taken it to show my brother that evening, placing it back in its box with all the extras i had bought, that will teach me not to brag, just fitted with Bronze Ti standoffs and Ti scale which my wife had kindly purchased for christmas, i was the proudest man alive, but whats really pissed me off is it was the first time out of my pocket literally since purchase ...

Well that's my story and that was my weekend minus 1 family pet 1 crappy Volvo and the secret love of my life, my orange Hinderer sadly no more .

Sorry if the story dragged on, i originally only wanted to asking if anyone had a sand-bead blasted 3" Slicer / Non Flipper for sale

Thanks

wow........I don't know what to say..... I saw your post and was going to come in and welcome you (which I still do ) but
wow. Ummmm
We will all keep a look out (we know lots of places to look)
I'm so sorry for your loss (s) I am speechless.
Please stay in touch, here.

A sad story for sure, I know the pain of losing a pet/family member, I've also been burgled and lost my prized (stupid expensive) mountain bikes in the theft....

All at once though, I sure hope fate offers you more favour in the future, best wishes from NZ.

PM me your address and I'll send you a brand new Hinderer baseball cap, it aint no XM but its something.

A very bad day.

Not sure how the XM was both Ti scaled and orange, but the great loss of it falls short of the loss of your pet.

You have my sympathy.

Wow! The Japanese have a specific saying for what you experienced, "Nakitsura ni hachi" (A bee for a crying face). The loss of a family member is really tough and nothing can heal that wound but time, but I sure hope they can find the person who stole your car and by some miracle you can get your knife back!!!!

Hopefully your bad luck is over and the rest of this year will be awesome for you!!
God loves his animals, That's why he created so many of them, Your old friend is
experiencing total joy and no more pain in Heaven. Hang in there mate.

Well, the loss of a pet is a Genuinely heart wrenching experience and one that should never be taken lightly nor does it even compare to losses of mere property - I understand the frustration associated with the time proximity.
The few times I have been devastated by having to say good-by to my dearest friend(s) I don't know what I would have done.

I feel for you brother, I hope something turns around for you.

Best of luck and my sympathy.

Sorry for you. Never really 'right' words to say at things like this. We all know that there are thugs that are just but right in the world and, in that way, we can empathize with you. Really sorry this all happened to you.

It was purchased with the orange scale , the Ti came after

Genuinely many thanks guys , some very very kind words and posts ..

Its funny i wasent going to post on here, ive seen many a newbie waltz into the Hinderer section ask a stupid question then get ran out of town.

My daughters i was more concerned about especially around christmas time
but i think i got away with it ! if it had been a week or 10 days earlier , i think every christmas after would have been " remember when the dog died "

But back to the weekend , It does make you think one minute your in the kitchen drinking a cup of tea , 10 minutes later theres a state of mass hysteria and wild emotions , we have very little control of our lives , when the shit hits the fan.

Thanks again Guys

Welcome and glad you posted. No one is trying to run anyone out of town, we will have to be more careful to be tolerant and helpful. Good luck getting things headed in the right direction and don't be such a stranger to the Hinderer forum.

I hope you catch the thief & get your Hinderer back. I'd check ebay & craigslist for Hinderers in your area. I'm sure he will search "Hinderer" & find out he hit the jackpot. He will definitely sell the knife, either that or keep it as a memory, which one day he will get caught & maybe you will get it back. Makes me want to put my name & number on my knives in case they get stolen, the pawn shop can call me.

^^That's not a bad idea ModZ.

I have a jeweler buddy that could likely do micro engraving on say...the lockside or some piece not easily swapped or modded. It's like etching VIN #s in automotive glass.

Maybe I'll look into it.

No dont get me wrong.

Sites like the bladeforum are becoming a minority theres a growing trend of forums been spoilt by trolls & bullies from members with childish behaviour to people/groups with an agenda.

Theres nothing wrong with running a tight ship.

;)

Or if you have pics I can keep an eye out for ya since I literally see almost every Hinderer sold on the net. I'm sure others would help too.

So sorry for your loss. Among the toughest things I've ever had to do was hold my dog(s) as they crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry for your loss man, I'd rather loose my whole collection than my dog, its just an object a dog is irreplaceable.
