Can't remember for the life of me. Favorite pen and lost it at a wedding reception. Initials MM. Think it was Matt something.

Matthew Martin probably. Different style than the ones of his I own, except the oldest of mine has a similarly bent clip. Bummer you lost it.

This Surefire E2D Defender is something I recently dragged out of a drawer. It’s still the incandescent one and I probably bought it around 2005 and I remember thinking it was kind of a big deal back then. I think some keychain lights might be brighter now. The Halo II is from 7/2005.

Just begging to be Malkoff’d !

Getting the gear together for an overnight hike tonight. The Wildcat without the defuser on the MD3 running on 18500s. My favorite light of all times! Will run all night on low or over an hour on high. And will eat cr123 if needed. And of course the Inkosi needs no introduction. I should and want to carry the FK2 but Im doing the one year challenge so its all Inkosi all the time for me.

Do you know which model would best work on this?
I'm not sure Malkoff makes a drop-in for the E2D, but they do make a replacement LED head. Lumens Factory makes a drop-in. (While I own multiple Malkoffs, I've never owned an LF product and can't comment on their quality.)

I am a huge fan of their e series heads and carry the E2S everyday. But I like single stage lights. For multi stage I would go with a VME head with anyone of a handful of M61 drop ins depending on color temp and cri.
I am not sure if there is a drop in for the defender head but just call Gene ( yep the owner will answer the phone and help you ) and ask.

Appreciate it, thanks.
