What about lower prices on RC knives?

I believe offering customers options, via your dealer network, would be worthwhile. In addition, it would likely be financially advantageous for all parties involved.

You might even see a few kydex benders decide to augment their sales by offering your products, as well. Just a thought.

I'm surprised this isn't an option for dealers already. It sure seems like a great idea to give them more styles to present to their customers. Some will jump all over it, preferring many choices, and others will want to keep their stock simple and consistent. The only difficulty for you guys will be having to keep a bit more inventory perhaps, and do a bit more prep work before shipping your orders.

Go for it. Everybody will win.

I think both ideas are fantastic, options are always a good thing. Even if you do want a sheath with your knife it's nice to know exactly what it's worth so you can weigh it against other sheathing options.

Hey Jeff, any plans to offer your knives in different steels?

In the future, yes. Right now, no. We have too many other options we're trying to keep up with ;)

OK, it's decided, we are going to send an email out this week to all dealers and distributors with the new options of "knife only" and the RC-3 without the MOLLE back. Instead the RC-3 will be offered "standard" with the molded sheath, boot clip and a pair of MOLLE locks. It will be some savings but not a lot since we're adding the MOLLE locks to the system. This will standardize the way all of our knives are configured. The RC-3 will still be available as it is now with MOLLE back and no price change on that.

Can you tell us what the price difference will be? Also does this mean that RC6's without the sheaths will be released sooner?

Personally I think the knife is only half of the pruchase. I love a good sheath (good as in solid, usable, not as in complex). But I would buy a RC-4 or RC-3 in a heartbeat without a sheath. Mostly because I tend to make my own even if the knife comes with a usable sheath. The price point would help too. I just ordered a RC-4, and it almost turned into a marriage alerting event : (

For the most part, the people I know expect a sheath of some osrt when they purchase a fixed blade. Some way to go out and carry it right away. To them it is just like not getting scales, the knife isnt complete. To me, well it is just a few bucks saved.
