What about the laredo Bowie (SK5)

the tang of the loredo is not a short cut or cheap way out, it is made with a tang and cable construction for production reasons and is quite strong. The laminate handle is also better than a "real wood" is this case. If the handle was put together properly in the factory then there should be no problems at all. As for SK-5, it can be very good with proper heat treatment.
