OK well this knife has recently caught my attention. a nice frame lock with g-10 and their new steel that I want to try. Anyone have one yet and care to comment on them?

Pretty amazing build and features for the price.
Stainless steel frame lock with lock bar stabilizer.
Flips amazingly fast and locks up solidly.
The overdrive mechanism is pretty impressive.
Definitely worth picking one up!

Gotta agree. Its a very nice knife for the $$. I'm pleasantly surprised with the all over neatness of the OD-1. Very slick flipper!

Whoa! I'm gonna go over and check it out, altough my local Wal-mart has been pretty pathetic in the knife department lately....

Thanks for the tip Thomas!

Had a change to EDC it for several days and I'm really liking it so far.
+Great construction. Half g10 and half steel reminds me of really premium knives like a ZT300 or a Strider SnG.
+love the lockbar stabilizer
+Framelock is great choice over the usual liner lock and I like that the blade has no recurve
+The flipper is really smooth. Whatever mechanism allows the blade to flip open so smoothly every single time is great.

- the framelock is a little thinner than I'm used to. But this is a lower priced knife and it's a slim and classy knife so it makes sense. It's easy to disengage though so I like that. The lockbar never sticks or has any problems.
-I hope kershaw considers making a larger version in the future. Maybe a blade length of 3.5 inches.
-I wish there was some thumb jimping, but in the end I don't think I'll miss it.

Basically I think the OD1 is a perfected version of the Leek. I personally don't like AO and I felt the framelock on the Leek was a little too hard to close because it was so small. The OD1 fixes these issues.

If you have a Wal-Mart close...
Interesting..... Had a a look, for the first time, at what knives Walmart shows on its website. Spyderco brand outnumbers Kershaw by at least 2x. Guess you are looking at OD-1 to put a dent in that?

Still waiting patiently for mine to arrive from KC

As a point of reference, Wal-Mart stores, and Walmart.com are two separate entities. The store sales out number the online sales by a ton.

The Tanto Blur is the only item in the stores that is currently online.

We did get an all USA selection in the stores this year.

Tanto Blur
Black Leek
OD-1
Zing
Skyline
2445 (non cataloged item)

We try not to focus on our competition, but more look to put our head down and work for our customers the best we know how. We find there is more success with this formula.

I am going crazy over here, when are the online retailers going to get the OD1?

Just breathe BoxANT, breathe...

I mentioned in another post that 2/23 is the official date of the new Wal-Mart selections. They should be in the majority if not all stores.
