What about these?

I have some i am perty hard on my knives and they have held up with out a problem I am very happy with them.

Thrillbilly the scales are Cocobolo that firesteel is Bloodwood

Ah, all cleared up now. thanks.

I keep looking at those scales. I aint even sure what I would put them on, I think I have more scales then Beckers LOL....but I like them so much I am tempted. I DO have another 9 heading my way next week so......

Not the crystal fortress scales

Actually, you probably didn't pick up on the fact that there were only photos of one side of that knife. As I was getting ready to put the scales on to take the photos I snugged down too hard on the front one and heard a sickening "SNAP!". I ended up supergluing the right side together enough to take the photos.

Actually, the glue held up fine, but because the scales are so clear the crack is really obvious. I've been trying different brands of epoxies, and it makes a difference. The poly kind that dries white is tough as all hell. It will put up with anything.
Some brands shrink so the screw holes don't line up with the tang. It's been quite a learning experience.

It would be rad if you sold tiny kydex 'sheaths' for them that have a profile like a BK2 blade and clip onto your belt (except everyone would complain about the stock sheath on their BK2 fire steel).

I've got one of Tommy's firesteels that I got with my latest set of scales. It's a great steel. Very easy to hold and strike. The "handle" part of the handle is the perfect size for a finger to wrap around.

Very good work, Tom. I love those cocobolo scales. They're gorgeous. I need to review those new scales you sent me. My best friends came into town this week and I'm super busy until Sunday, but I'll do it then. Rest assured I love both the steel and the scales.

Hear that? that's the sound of the wheels turning in my head

If any of my scales broke during use the user must have been killed as well because I haven't had any reports

Nearly wet myself laughing!

I have a couple sets, They are tough stuff however they will not stand up well to a glancing attack from a BK6 wielded by an offhand using idiot. Like myself.

Cool! Looks Great! Only suggestion, attatch the striker with an elastic loop so that it can be used to hold the flint in a sleeve-type holder like found on many leather sheaths...

Good idea. He needs some Tacklef*#k Forge "Stretchy String"™.

those steels are great!
Very unique, no one else will have one unless they're a BF member. Certainly a conversation starter. Great job!

Those scales turned out great. The firesteels are crazy cool looking too. I have go to hit you up soon on some scales. Do you make them for the 14?

He uses a double sided nut-screw thing. One side has the threaded insert, the other side is the bolt....both have phillips heads. the screw together and meet in the middle. pretty nifty arrangement.

Very cool idea; I just found an example of the fastener. Thanks!
