What? Again? Alzheimer's Moment Limited Edition GAW

Not an entry. I do love the large, but this fantastic man has already given my a Small Regular in another Give Away. Someone else gets a turn!
If I WERE to enter, I would guess the bit about the custom graphic.

Congrats CCC! Thanks for another great GAW, Ghostwalker!

1. Looks like "Custom Unique Graphic" was added to the birthcard, thus not making it correct or original. So incorrect birthcard is my guess.
.............

And "Gold Thumb Lug" was written by the same hand.

Thanks for the opportunity here Ghostwalker. Even though I didn't win the knife I thank you for showing such generosity here to the community. I'm sure that knife is getting a great new home. It's so wonderful to see such selfless acts here. I've been a member of a lot of forums and while they are all great in their own regard, this one has the most generous people that I've ever seen. Giving away anything of that kind of value is just amazing and good karma is heading your way my friend.

Congrats CCC! Good thing the judges aren't squeamish! Painful, but great story!

I didn't post this earlier because I wasn't entering the GAW, but you folks might enjoy this tale of my boneheadedness. :o Go ahead, have a laugh at my expense! :o :D

That's very similar to the story I shared in this thread LW. I packaged up the wrong knives in the wrong boxes but caught it before they left the local post office. We spent an hour digging thru packages in the back of the post office after they closed and ended up finding them so I was able to correct it before they actually left for their new owners.

I saw that, I'm sure glad you caught it!

Congrats to the winner! I've actually been very lucky in learning about this horrible disease in my line of work. I had assisted a small biotech Company raise about $75M dollars to help fund their research which was derived from a Time Magazine winner of Top 10 Science Breakthrough of the Year for mapping Alzheimer's genome.

Here's a presentation that helps walk through the state of AD, what it is, current and future theories by my ex client. He's the Dir of Genetics at Mass General and a Harvard Prof. of Neurology.

https://vimeo.com/110252647

He also recently published a new paper discussing how AD could stem from immune responses to bacterial infections.

The worst part about the disease is that it robs one of their connection to their world.

My mother, who is 62, has a great friend of hers that she went to school with and has remained quite close for all these years. Well this poor woman got Alzheimer's about 3 or 4 years ago in her late 50s and we've watched her go downhill since. It's so sad to see anyone, let alone a 62 year old, struggle with everyday activities that we all take for granted. She can't even get a sentence out without losing track of what she is saying. It's an awful thing that doesn't care who you are or where you come from.
