Here is my current (or coming soon! :D) EDC

Folder: Benchmade 806D2 plain edge
Fixed: Cold Steel Recon Tanto w/On Scene Tactical Sheath
Multitool: Leatherman Wave and SOG Powerlock
Microtool: Leatherman Micra and SOG CrossCut w/On Scene Micro Rigs

Light 1: Surefire E2e-HA w/GGG TID
Light 2: Arc AAA White w/On Scene Micro Rig

BlackHawk CQB / Rescue Belt
T.H.E. Wallet
Tactical CHeckbook Holder
Fisher Space Pen - Bullet, Chrome
Keys
Comb
Ericsson Celphone

It seems like a lot, but somehow it seems lacking...what do you think?

I've been considering putting my keys and micro rigs on a carabiner and attaching it to one of these like one of my friends at work does, or would I be better off with a normal kubotan?

Also, I just ordered the Blackhawk belt because of all the good things I have heard about it, but then I realized its 1.75" width is probably too wide for most of my pants. I've been considering a Wilderness Original Instructor's Belt in 1.5" instead.

Another thing is the fixed blade. The Recon Tanto has been a great workhorse, but its a bit large. Most people at work look at me like I'm a psycho killer when I wear it, despite the fact that I'm quite sure on of my coworkers has a CCW permit and always has a concealed handgun! What sort of fixed blade knife should I look at that will hold up to abuse, but looks a little less scary?

One of the few things I can't figure out is a new watch. I currently wear a knockoff Rolex. I like it because the two-tone gold/silver looks nice with my gold rings ( :D  ), but its not as flashy as a totally gold watch. I haven't been able to find a nice watch that has the same looks, short of the real thing! Any ideas?

Sorry for the long post, but I've been pondering this for a while and finally got around to posting it all!

How about a SOG Tigershark?.:D.:D. Actually, a SOG Seal Pup would be a pretty good choice, or for something even smalller, how about a Camillus Cuda CQB-2?.

No! Not more ferocious (sp?) looking! :p

The Seal Pup might be more reasonable and that Camillus CQB-2 looks nice too! Where could I find the Camillus cheap?

You're missing not too much...

something to make fire?
Blazer micro I think you call it...

Impact device?
kubotan, batonlite, stinger

Spy capsules for money/meds?

Go with the comtech stinger instead of the ninja keychain. I believe www.keychaindefense.com sells it. The stinger will draw few if any stares, it's weighs less than the ninja keychain and it can be very effective as a "massage tool."

if you had a nice Chris Reeves fixed blade you could store a survival kit in the hollow handle eh :)

Well, whatever I get will also help keep my keys in my pocket. I.E. the kubotan is in my pocket with my keys hanging out. That is how I'll be carrying them at work. On the street I might do something different.

What a batonlite is made for...

Yea, but I've already got a Surefire. Wouldn't a kubotan serve the same purpose?

Batonlite is marginally easier to explain, here at least, also runs on LEDs so will do for less intense light.

Take a look at Don Rearic's pages for why a pocket stick is better than a kubotan...

I second the Blazer recommendation.

Well, i had one a while back, but it broke on me. It didn't seem very reliable.

Maybe a windmill (expensive! :( ) or a Zippo...

Do I get a commisssion on this sale?.:D.:D.

For some suggestions on what you may be missing check out some of my web pages at http://www.october.com/prepared/.

I would particularly suggest an ASP Key Defender as an improvement over the spiked kubotan. It is a more versatile weapon and it can put your keys to good use too. :)

For a non-threatening but tough fixed blade I would recommend you look at Bob Dozier's smaller blades. His Companion (K-6) or Personal Utility (K-9) in one of his terrific horizontal belt sheaths would be perfect. Or check out his Straight Personal at A.G. Russell.

That ASP Key Defender looks like a good choice! Any legal issue with carrying it in CA?

Those knives look amazing and I've heard great things about Dozier knives, but they are a bit too expensive right now. I can't really spend that much...:(

I don't think so, but I can't tell you for sure.

Can anyone else comment?

I certainly understand the cost issue, but thought they were worth pointing out. Keep them in mind for when you have a bit more in the way of funds...

Good luck!
