What Amy-0 did this weekend..

My Father passed 22 years ago this past June 13 to cancer at age 38.

On June 6, one of my co-instructors, my academy cadets, and future cadets participated in a relay-for-life. I was there a bit for support as well. 24 hours of people running for the relay.

Our group won the spirit award.

Bravo, Amy to your participation as well. Cancer has ravaged my family and I appreciate what you did and understand your feelings.

Thanks to everyone that supports!

There are two kinds of animals on this earth. Most will look out for themselves and many will look out for their closest relations: offspring, or members of the herd or flock or pack.

But among the true humans you will find those who have risen above the ancestral animal, and they will look out for others they don't know, or even those they don't particularly like, only caring they are in need.

Hey Amy, That is awesome that you helped people in this way, remember what I said about Special Olympics when we was in ATL. We should all have a benefit that we volunteer for.

I worked one event and that done it for me, I was sold, it makes you feel good in a thankless world, to help someone that actually appreciates it.

Hope all is well in Ohio and I am looking forward to my next Busse knife, I have told so many people of the commraderie amongst the Busse family.

Thanks and tell Stewart, I said yo and whats up...don't know his forum name?

:thumbup::thumbup: Very impressive! Way to bring about a lot of GOOD from something bad. Raise your head high filled with pride! Hats off to you, Amy....

I don't think that there is one person here who hasn't been affected by cancer... Whether directly or indirectly. Whether personally or through a loved one, relative, close friend, or even a pet...

So, with this in mind, I humbly say

THANK YOU

For you, and your family & friends' efforts to raise money to find a cure for cancer once and for all.

You all ROCK!!!

Your a good woman Amy-O. Your HUSBAND is a lucky guy!

My family, several generations of them, have also been hit hard by cancer.
Most recent, my mother, father and oldest sister all have had it and so far are doing well.
Mayo Clinic treated my folks after local doctors missed (Mother)/ weren't concerned with test results (Father) pointing to cancer.
Avon's cancer charity was instrumental in getting my sister, who was uninsured when diagnosed, in for further testing and lining up ways to fund treatments which were paid for fully.
Volunteer work for these charities is what makes all this happen. It saves lives! Thank you for your time helping this charity!

God Bless You Amy-O :)

Amy, thanks for doin what you did.

Nancy and I, both survivors, are participating in ours this Friday night.

As Barb said, we survivors appreciate all of your efforts.

Good on you Amy, & all the people who help with these kinds of things, awesome work.

Amy's married????

My world has ceased to revolve. Gravity has no hold. I'm floating into space. ;)

Great job Aim-ster! And I couldn't conceive of you NOT being married. You are too much of a catch.

Great job! You are supporting a great organization that makes a difference!

I knew it.:)

Amy is a "giver." And so is the rest of her extended family.:thumbup:

I think this species might make it to the next level after all.;)
