What angle bevel do you put on Scandi's?

I have a Frost Cutlery Mora and I just sharpened it with my Lansky kit. I noticed that it came from the factory with about a 12 degree bevel. I thought that was a little shallow for woodcutting so I put a 25 degree bevel on it.

What do you think? Should I have simply chased the existing bevel? If not - what angle would you have put on it.

I have to say - for a 12 dollar knife - MAN is this thing sharp.

I ignore any micro bevel and lay the whole bevel of the knife flat on a stone stone to sharpen it that gives it a true scandi edge and there is almost nothing sharper

Ya, you shoulda chased the 12 degree bevel. Scandi's tend to be anywhere between 10 and 15 degrees per side, or 20 to 30 degrees inclusive. 12 degrees isn't too shallow at all, you should play with it and see what you think. I bet you'll learn to like it alot.

P.S. If you like that knife you should check out www.ragweedforge.com they carry a lot of the Frost's(Now called Mora of Sweden) models as well as some other scandi brands.
