Case sharpens them by hand on a giant belt sander. So I think that's just a generalization. Try 15 degrees and see how it works for you.
Just an fyi, confirming what joe-bob says:
I used a Sharpie on the edges of two new Case knives I bought, a Large CV Bonestag Stockman, and later a Sodbuster Jr.
A Lansky sharpener at 15 deg. would remove the ink from each blade edge of the Stockman fairly evenly, but there were some very small variances visible.
When I did the same thing to the Sodbuster Jr., 20 deg. started removing the ink pretty evenly. The edge on the Sodbuster Jr. feels like an ax edge compared to the Stockman's 15 deg. edges. (To me it does, anyway.)
