What are my options for a tough folder with sub 8cm bladelength?

Hest is 3.15" blade. Good choice, solid knife, terrific wave opening with cap lifter. Love my T3.

Damn 8.001cm (will round down) so 8 cm it is.

Thanks needed that confirmation, with the prices I mentioned and comparing to others on the list like the Emerson would you say it is worth the price?

I love mine and I paid more for the limited T3 model. I find it to be a tough customer that will handle anything thrown its way. I also like the niolox steel as well. Takes a good edge n holds it. Also a fan of their serrations. Easy to sharpen, n work really well. Being able to wave open is a big plus n it's just plain cool. I edc it frequently n it's has been so since I acquired it.
Try one. If you don't like it sell it.

Thanks for the input am going through the videos on youtube, seems to be a front runner only concern is price €300 when the Odino (€180) and Lion steel SR2 (€150) are much cheaper but have similar heft and materials.

You could always check out a small fixed blade. The Hest fixed is same blade length. Also have a look at Evans knife and tool companion model. Looks great with some nice options. He's over on the knifemakers forum, fixed blades section. Lot of cool stuff there as well

I already have an ESEE Izula 2 but local laws won't allow it to be carried :grumpy:

And I am leaning toward the lion steel SR2 at the moment .

I owned a heat, and it was a great knife. I really like DPx's wave version, opens beer bottles like nobody's business. If they were in G10 on both sides I'd own a hest.
