What are some decent entry-level slipjoint brands?

I did not take the time to read all the answers, but off the cuff, Schrade USA Old Timers. You can find an abundance on Ebay. Delrin handles and carbon blades make for a great slipjoint starter. Sometimes around $35 on ebay.
