What are some good knife websites to learn from?

This is the overall best forum if you want to learn about knife topics.

Why bother with any other?

I wasn't asking about forums. I joined this one because I heard a lot about it and it seems impressive. I am interested to find a website that has all the information in one place. The website I was refering to (knife-lovers.com) is not a forum and has almost everything, except for kitchen knives. My son has to do a very comprehensive research on various materials used in knives, and I am trying to help him.

jayfisher.com has some pretty extensive writings.

Also you could search for Don Rearic in google. His site has tactical knife writings.

I find it an interesting coincidence that that site you linked to happens to have someone named Sophie listed as "Vice President."

One might jump to the conclusion that your post was merely a bit of self-promotion for that site, which generates money by linking to Amazon.

I knew that was going to happen if I ever subscribe to forums. There are always people ready to jab for no reason. Ask a question, and someone will come up with a conspiracy theory because, hey, they can't be nice to help with a relevant answer, they have to be jerks and thrash other members.
On another note, another big thank you to all members who helped. I was able to find a lot of interesting stuff thanks to their suggestions. Glad to know there are people out there who serve the purpose of a forum: helping others.

There hardly seems "no reason." It seems the obvious answer to your question is "here"...like lapedog pointed out. So the question might be taken as "fishy."

I went an visited the site you recommended, looked at who was behind it, and saw "Sophie."

Is that you? I don't know. But, I think you can see why one might come to that conclusion.

We get people trying to "stealth advertise" here all the time, and it hurts the folks who do support this site and keep it up and running. And we like that it is running.

Yes, my name is Sophie, but I am not vice-president or president of any knife sites/forums etc. I just needed some information, so I posted here. I referred to the knife lovers website because it was the only one I had come across so far. While it seems to be very comprehensive, I was hoping to offer my son more choices. Some people helped me. Some just sneered. Assumptions are not proof of good judgment. Questions are. That is, if you have any suspicions, you ask questions, as opposed to making hurtful assumptions.

Well, best of luck to you and your son, Sophie. The site you listed, even after just a cursory look, seems rife with inaccuracies and misinformation.

Without question an infinitely better place to learn about knives is BladeForums. One of the manufacturers who has a subforum here, Spyderco, also has a ton of accurate information on their site, https://www.spyderco.com/ in the EDGE-U_CATION section.

Maybe if you can tell us more about what kind of information he is looking for and why, and why it has to be about "tactical knives" in particular, we can give you even-more specific sources of information.

Not specifically tactical knives. Materials used in knives of all kind, including kitchen knives. For both blades and handles.
