When I was new I was a little surprised to find that cardboard was so rough on an edge. I hear carpet is pretty bad.

A box of salt blocks chipped up my Native even though I never hit a block.

What have you found that kills an edge?

I used to have a mango orchard. I used my knife to dig out and cut roots that were diseased. Killed an edge fast.

Ice blocks. I had a block of ice recently that had half melted and then refroze. I was chipping pieces off to make a drink and it did a number on two knives. I rolled the edge of my vg10 endura. I then took a chip out of a 1095 fixed blade. Did not expect that.

Sod or Dirt will kill a blade fast you got to watch some Zip-ties they can be hell on a blade. Fiberglass insulation will dull a blade in a heart beat.

Yourself for the title of the post. Insulation from electrical wire if you dig into the wire itself. Even worse if it is hot. Don't ask me how I know this!

Blessings,

Omar

Guitar wires, a friend used my tenacious to cut the low E string instead of the pliers right next to him. Don't think I ever got that nick out before I sold it.

Aluminum tape...other than the fact that it dulls your knives it's great stuff!

Hog hair, moose hair and bear fur dull knives in short order, hog being the worst.

one of my old friends tried to cut through a concrete cinder block with a spyderco police I sold him. It didnt last long. The edge that is. He got about 2" into it before it just wasnt even creating dust anymore. But he resharpened the knife and still used it. Though it was a plain edge by that time. Sad thing was it was literally 3 days after I sold it to him. When I asked why he did it he said it was his plan all along. He knew how much I liked the knife and wanted to see how bad I would squirm.

That sounds like a "true" friend to me!!!

Thin aircraft cable will dull a knife in no time!!

Many "filled" plastics as the fillers are typically glass beads or a clay material. Those even eat up carbide insert lathe tools in a hurry if you try to machine them.

The baddest thing to cut, in my personal opinion, based on MANY experiences is ME.

Cutting me can do bad things to a knife......................
