What are the Tin's you guys look for for surival packets, stoves, and tinder tins?

I know of the Altoids tin for survival packets - but anything else you can recommend?

I used to get kodak film tins that were the same size as the tinder box tin that came w/ your fire piston.... If you can find them, they are stellar. Altoids, zippo tins, fossil tins, are all good ones....

I'm pretty sure I saw a guy who posted about using a particular kind of chew tobacco tin. Maybe he'll post for you.

i read that same thread, if you are too young to buy the chewing tobacco or you dont want to waste money on it because you dont chew, then there is a shredded beef jerky that comes in the same container.

Your great! Exactly what I was looking for.

What do you all think - screw top - or press fit top?

PleasurePlus condoms are packaged by the dozen in a two-piece tin. It measures 5 1/2" x 3" x 1", roughly.

The small rectangular Trangia "mess tin" is aluminum and holds about 3/4 of a liter. I'm using it as a crush proof lidded cooking container to house my survival kit.

Why don't you try one of each as samples? I got two bottles to use for fuel at no cost.

FAQ page:
How do I order samples?
If you are a current customer, please call us for sample requests. If you are a new customer, you can order up to two items as samples online by adding the two items into your shopping cart and going through the checkout process. For payment method, select “payment by check” and write “sample order” in special instructions. Specialty and large glass containers are not available as samples. We also offer no minimum order, so small orders can be placed with a credit card online.

BTW, I like Whitman's cloisonne candy tins better than Altoids.

Ditto on the pipe tobacco tins. I've got a couple that are several years old that have held up really well.
