What are the chances?

Thanks all.

I'm into ZT's; I have nearly 70 of them including some rare and hard to get models. While I'm not so concerned about serials I have a few EDC's in the rotation while the rest stay boxed up. A lot of guys have no use for safe queens and I tend to agree- to the extent of intrinsic value vs. replacement. If I can't easily replace it with a knife of equal value, I keep it safe. There's only one #1 and I can't replace it with a #2478, despite them being the same piece. So this one isn't going anywhere and like my other rare blades it will probably never see the inside of my pocket.

I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that finding #2478 is just as tough as finding #1. :p Cool serial # though.

Except that it's no.1 of that particular color. Not the first 801. I would think that you would have to find a specific collector that would pay a premium for it.

Ebay is full of fools like you describe...

Congrats on the neat # though!

I know it is... but like I said, now that I have it, it has intrinsic value to me that another 0801BLK won't have. I don't plan on selling it, so the value is not monetary. It's a neat piece and I feel lucky to have scored it.

I don't really think you're overreacting honestly. Even if it is only #1 of that color, it's still #1 :D

It's awesome that you got a hold of it! But yeah, I want to know what the actual chances of that are...

I would offer that one on our Exchange, and sell it to a serious collector, then buy another and pocket the difference. Just don't USE that one, sir.

Yeah, unless you too are a serious collector and had no/little intention of using it--sell it, and buy one that you can use without worry/ second thought. You do sound like you have your own collection going, however...

Keep is posted--great score, nonetheless. And from Amazon too?! Wow.

Congrats, that's a very nice score, must feel especially nice as it was unexpected :)

If you don't win much in lotteries, here is your remuneration :D

00001...

Meh, I heard they're writing that on all the knives nowadays.

Congrats on the keeper!

Im sure all of the knock offs have the infamous 00001.

Not sayin that the op's is a knock off
