What are the chances.....??

Here's another kicker, I held that Box Elder in my hands either last Saturday or the one before.....so I believe that Box Elder is from Southern Calif. ALMOST took it home with me, but I already have one.....or two :D
 
Those are sweet, especially tbe box elder. I am currently mnandi-less.....!

lol. You know, I wondered why you didn't snag that one. It was listed as "On Hold" for several days. One morning I noticed it was again available and I couldn't breath for two hours waiting for the store to open so my repeated calls would be answered. I love the deep warm Golden Cream color of the wood and especially the grain pattern. The photos don't do it justice.

Thank you for letting it come live with me. From now on it will be referred to as "Lisa's Mnandi". :)

And yes, it came from Plaza Cutlery, one of my favorite CRK dealers. :thumbup:

They are my first Mnandis. They will not be my last.
Now I understand why the Mnandi appeals to so many.

Hey Hermit your welcome for the Mnandi, LOL. I'm the reason it was taken off hold. I called about it and the guy said he'd ask Dan about it and the next day it was taken off and you bought it before I could get home to my credit card. They were supposed to call me if it was for sale before they put it back up but oh we'll, win some lose some. It's probably best for my wallet that you did grab it! Nice snag bro!

lol. Well then my friend, you too deserve a sincere Thank You!! I can see why this knife had a lot of admirers and I am now beginning to appreciate just how fortunate I am in having it. :)

However all is not lost. Did you receive the PM's I sent to you earlier this week concerning another Box Elder Burl Mnandi they have but as yet have not listed in the store? I was in email correspondence with Dan on the one I was lucky to get and he informed me about this other one that is coming up. Be sure and check it out. Dan is supposed to be in the store today (Sunday) I believe. He told me he has photos.
You deserve to have a Box Elder Burl Mnandi!! :thumbup:

As for me, I am beginning to feel a little guilty...... lol. :cool:

They are beautiful knives. I've been fortunate to have picked up a cocobola damascus Mnandi from the Forum. I'm awaiting my first custom ordered LH Box Elder Burl Damascus Mnandi from Chris's shop. Great score...........

Actually, you have me to thank for NOT buying it. It was on hold for me....LOL. Dan emailed me and told me about it the day it arrived. While waiting for it, I purchased one from 2Dead (thank you!). I thanked Dan for holding it and contacting me then graciously "released it". I think it's the ONLY Box Elder I beat Lisa to. You can properly rename it "Eric's Elder" :-)

I have a Snakewood I purchased from GP born on February 29th...way cool! Sadly I will NEVER find one made on my birthday. As the chances CRK will be open for business July 4th is slim to none ;-)

The reason he had to "ask Dan" is because Dan was waiting for my decision. It was in, photographed, then placed on hold within hours of its arrival. Those at the store were unaware Dan placed my name on it prior to it leaving the factory after a conversation with Jessie. I knew it was being shipped to Plaza before it ever left CRK..LOL. In any case, It has a loving home :-)
