What are the five most commonly asked questions about knives?

1. Where can I get one of those?
2. How much did you pay for that?
3. Is it sharp?
4. How much do you want for it?
5. Can you send me the tracking numbers?

:D:D

Hey T. Erdelyi:

If your job requires it, that's legit. But I would tell the boys in the shop to bust their a$$ down to Walmart and get their own damn knife! My reply was not aimed at you. I was thinking more along the lines of those pics where the whole page is covered with fixed blades and folders, pens, flashlights, etc. and they say they say they carry all that, every day. It goes along with the questions like, "who you gonna kill with that"? Well, if you have a 5" fixed blade IWB, 3 or four 4" tactical folders, a neck knife, etc. on your person it seems like the person asking the question might have a reason to be slightly suspect. In all sincerity, none of this is personal to me.

LAG3, I guess it's all in the presentation, everyone I know considers me a knife knut, as a collector though. They all know I consider a knife a tool before considering it as a weapon. Hell they all know my weapon of choice is a B Series Mack Truck anyway. I wasn't taking your comment personally, just wanted to let you know that there are people out there who as part of their job carry more than one and sometimes what might be considered an excessive amount of hardware.

N2Sharp .. good one. That matches my feeling exactly :D

Erdelyi, any links to those people carrying so many stuff? Just wondering what are being carried ..

1. Oi sunshine, where do you think you're going?
2. Empty your pockets.
3. Bloody hell what's that!
4. Put it on the floor and take a slow step to the side.
5. You are under arrest.

(things are more difficult over here)

1. Is that illegal?
2. Why do you carry a weapon?
3. Why do you carry a weapon?
4. Why do you carry a weapon?
5. Why do you carry a weapon?

Sounds like there's still time, Lady Colt! There are many good-looking knife-oriented men on the Forums of all ages and physical types.;)

One question I've gotten a couple of times is
"Can you kill someone with that?"
I'm tempted to answer "Yes--but there are better ways." (Or stare at it for a while and say "Hm...yes, yes you could.")

Now, on the forums there are some questions that seem to come up a lot.
Which knife (out of some list) should I buy? (Spyderco Ladybug or Becker Patrol Machete? Sometimes no particular use is indicated)
What steel is the "best"? (Again, it's often unclear what it will be used for; just "best")
How can I sharpen my knife?
In Makers & Manufactuers' forums, you tend to get a lot of "when is the ... coming out?" or "could you make [some favorite knife] but with carbon fiber handles, titanium liners and a talonite blade 2.3" longer than currently?"
Yeah, it's impressive how many times the same questions come up.

different people ask different q's all the time:

wife:
How much?
Don't you own this already?
Do you realy have to have it? YES :D

mother in law:
Don't you have enough knives already?

other non-knife-people:
What do you need this for?
Can you lend it to me?
Is it sharp? i've senn sharper ones.

Greetings

Johnniet are you hitting on me? LOL
that's okay I say the same thing to him when another motorcycle appears in our garage, not that I don't like 'em, I do and have two 1972 Kawasaki Bighorn F9 350cc enduros, but enough is enough. after all my knives don't take up that much space.
