What are the odds of a Medium size Sebenza being made?

This horse didn't even show up to the race so keep your money, the odds aren't even marked. :p

One could argue they would have the small Sebenza a bit bigger or big a little smaller but at the end of the day both Sebenzas made cover pretty much all bases of use for a folder. The line had to be drawn some where and I think CRK drew it in the right place. Having a 3rd knife added with only a fractional difference in size from the others makes no sense at all as far as use or production, IMO.

In all honesty there already is a medium sebenza (the small one)
The Umfaan is really the "small."
The small sebenza is the "medium."
And the large sebenza is, well, the "large."

As has been well said, there's really no need for a mid-size. Just not enough difference in size of the small and large to warrant it. That said, if Chris ever makes a liar out of me, I'll be lined up for the first UG out of the gate.

So true! People forget the "small sebenza".....

Not going to happen. Zero %.

I for one always thought a large mnandi would be nice as well, but that would never happen either.

Sorry to derail medium thread, but, how about a return of the umfaan with an insingo blade?? I would be placing my order as soon as the thought crossed Chris' mind!!

I personally don't think a medium sebenza would make much sense. Between the Mnandi, Small, Ti-Lock, and Large/Umnumzaan, It think they pretty much have the spectrum covered.

I don't agree that the spectrum is covered at all. The small is too small for me, but the large is actually a bit more than I need. I do carry a Zaan or large Seb, but would be happier with an in-between model. I occasionally heft my Grayman Dua, which is a very good size for my hand. It is just the in-between that I'd like to see.
Here is a pic that shows the Dua along with the large and small Sebs, as well as a Three Sisters Forge Beast (on the bottom).
Both the Dua and the Beast are mid-size and allow me the extra handle length that I like in a knife. I'm not nearly so concerned with blade-length; I can get along very nicely with 3" (Beast) or 3.15" Dua lengths...blade-tip to handle.

On a slightly different note, I work at a government facility and therefore cannot carry a blade over 2.5 inches. I contacted the Reeves recently and inquired about having a custom Mnandi made shrunk down "just a tad" to comply with Uncle Sam. The polite answer I received was more or less, "Nope, we are not a custom knife shop. There are several models to choose from. We hope you can find one that will accommodate you." The funny thing is that the Umfaan wasn't mentioned, and I had never heard of one at the time. I can understand why they wouldn't want to start accept custom orders, but I'll tell you that if they would produce the Umfaan again, I would buy one. As it is, I can't find one. A bummer. So yeah, it sounds like they are going to stick with the models they have now for the time being.

As crazy as it might sound, what about the option of having someone who really knew what they were doing, grind down a Mnandi for you? Obviously there would be no warranty etc, but you'd have the knife you want. Anyone ever done anything like this?

I missed this thread the first time around.

Yeah, about a 0% chance of it happening, but I've been dreaming about one for 10 years.
I find the small a bit small and the large a bit large.
A medium would be my dream knife and would never leave my pocket.
I'll just keep on dreaming:p

Sad there is little chance of it hitting production but I have to agree the medium would be Jusssst right.
