Funny thing happened today. I did something dumb while working on a little blade. Thats not the funny part, its an everyday thing. I was drilling hole on some bocote scales that Jack ONeill sent me. So I laid out the blade on the left side and drilled through the wood. Well I drilled the both sides of the scales on the same side of the blade. I had two left hand sides. Man I was po'ed at myself. After taking a break and cooling off I went to get the second set to redo them. Before I got them I grabbed another blade that is waiting to get done and put one of the screw up scales up to it and wouldn't you know the holes lined up perfectly!!!:D I don,t use the exact spacing and placement on all the knives I make. It is one corby and one lanyard tube. I always measure each blades holes individually. What are the odds? Anyways it was quite a coingkidink, or the Good Lord didn't want me saying anymore four letter words. I just figured I would tell my little story and see if yall had some similar.

Glad it worked out for you. I've done that before only wasn't fortunate enough to have them work on another knife.

That is pretty odd.

Not a knife story but when I was cutting OSB sheets to wall the interior of my little shop with, the back wall is 10' wide x 8' high at the peak. I split the wall into 3 main sections with the peak area being 2 sections /| and |\.

Anyway, the manufacturer rolls a stamp across each sheet lengthwise as it's made. When I cut the 2 seperate sheets to make the peak area, the place where they meet was cut exactly through a graphic in that stamp making it line up almost perfectly!

I thought it was neat...but I'm a dork so ;)

As we say in my shop. It is good to be good, but it is better to be lucky.

About a year ago I clamped a work piece down on a CNC mill, loaded the program, hit start, watched it start, then got doing something else. Then I came running back when I realized I had forgot to zero the coordinates on the part. Turned out I had the put the work piece in just the right spot so that the last work offset I had used worked on this part. That the Z offset worked is no coincidence (same thickness) but the X and Y was just astonishingly good luck.

Hee Hee , glad it all worked out for you Pancho and that you are using them . Now I want to see what you did with that El Valinte blade I sent you .

I got it ground out, Heat treated and just waiting on me to catch up and get'er done. Thanks again Jack!

Pancho,

Have you ever done that twice in a row?.....lol I love hearing stuff like this...makes me feel better about my Woops moments.
